The Day They Took my Phone Away Day 33

Warning: Picture heavy post
I super duper love kids, and I love talking to them and making friends with them. So when this one came quite close to me, I decided to say hello. Guess what?! He decided to ask me for my Blackberry! This is one businessman in the making, really. Such a charmer too, before he left, he gave me a hug and a kiss! So manja somemore!
Kids these days!! Of course he wasn't the only one, next thing I know his brother has told me to piggy-back him and lil sister wanted just as much attention. How can you ever say "no" to kids? I have a feeling, when I have kids of my own....I am gonna be SO.SUPER.ATTACHED. I'd need to marry someone who could scold the kids without feeling bad!

It was a super sunny Saturday, so we all decided to spend it outside at Hyde Park! Most of the time though was with these kiddos :)
SUPER LOVE MY SATURDAY!!!

Because he gave me a big hug and kiss before he left, it was only fair I gave him back the same :)

Bridal Dinner day 32

We were gonna have a surprise dinner for our bride to be friend, and the instruction we got was to wear PINK. Oh my god, for a tomboy like me, I do not have pink ok. So....I thought this was Pink enough.
So guess who is here in the house?!
Shasa!!
She's here in London to get some hantaran, clear up some things in the house and basically just enjoy London as a miss before she gets hitched in December. I know right?! Everyone's getting married, or engaged end of the year, I have a feeling when I get home for winter, I'll not have enough baju to attend events!!

Anyway, we went to Koi for dinner, and food was just amazingggggg!! Clearly, it's a good place to hold events, because the food was superb. It's a modern Japanese restaurant, right smack beside Royal Albert Hall in Kensington.

Black and White Day 31

It's the final day for Finance Industry course, which also means it's our assessment day. We will be judged! Remember working Thursdays? Today was more like us having to give the presentations instead of the usual way where the Bankers from different Banks were the ones who gave presentations and taught us a thing or ten about the industry and specific employers.

The topic was given in the morning, and we were allowed approximately 2 hours and a bit to prepare a powerpoint slide and then wait for our slots to present. Personally, I thought it was quite fun, because where I work back at home, I came from the Investment Banking side, hence I was on the sell side. However, the topic that I got, to be presented was from a buy side point of view - Asset Management. I thought black and white would be the safest for first impression, and this piece from Massimo Dutti is my favourite today!
I got this during sale, and I have to say, when there is a sale, you MUST BUY something! This was only RM 90. For Massimo Dutti, I thought it is a very very good purchase :)

All in all, by the end of the day, it all went well. In particular, it sort of made my day when apart from knowing that I passed it and am done with one module, one of the comments received was "I love that you have this happy smile and energy when presenting". LOL! I don't know now whether it was a pass because presenter presented happily or because of the content? -_______-

Of course the day can only get better! After a good presentation Thursday, I had a dinner date with the bride and groom to be, Nona and Mateen. My god, we were in the restaurant for so long, people came, people left and we still had so many stories to catch up on!! We finished a whole duck, a few plates of dishes, a whole 3 plates of rice, second round of ice lemon tea....and still. We had so muchhhhh to talk about. We even had to go for a round of crepe and coffee afterwards!!
I love this girl to bits!! Can't wait to go back in December for her wedding. She has filled me up about preparations, it almost feels like I'm a part of the working committee.

Day 30!!

One month already!!! So fastttt!

Omg, it's day 30 and you know what? I have nothing but exams in my head right now.

So today, I shall save everyone from my complains and homesickness business (unless someone is willing to fly me back home that is) and....study ok. School was hectic and tomorrow is another working Thursday! London is same ol same ol, with rain and flood and some sun shines in the evening :) Macam weather forecast punye orang pun ada. That's a sign that I need to get away from this.

But hang on. Did you guys read about the LIBOR scandal? British Bankers' Association has surrendered their role. It's almost like them UK Banks saying to the customers, "We cannot be trusted". This was then followed by my favourite London Banker  telling me he walked into a lamp post yesterday before he got on the train to Leeds today. Which he is NOT supposed to be on, of course. Hahahaha! Aiyooooo! Did he just prove a point for UK Bankers? LOL!

Hehe, kidding!! Made my day though! :)

Happy Pill Day 29

I woke up feeling a little homesick and stress. I really think it was the rain from the day before and the fact that I have programming class today. But there was this girl who made it better just by planning out my week for me to see her!

Guess who is in London town?!
She woke me up with this:
"I'll see you tonight for dinner!!! I'm staying opposite Hermes!"

Ermmmm. Ok.
-________-

I'm glad she's here though!!!!! Dinner nights out! Well, she has to wait for me to finish school. I told her, I know she should be the princess since she's getting married soon, but....this time, I am the Princess. She and Mateen have to wait for moi, since some people has to work and go to school, thank you very much.

Rainy Day 28

Gloomy day throughout. From the rain, to the homesickness to frustrating events that took place.

It's been raining continuously in the UK and there have been many flood warnings going around. North of London is close to being flooded and I thought that Malaysia was bad enough. Shocking! I can't imagine what winter will be like here in London. Thank god I'm going home! :)

Apparently, in the past 24 hours, it has rained more than what the UK usually gets in A MONTH! Nonetheless, I've exported abang and kak long over to Portsmouth for some shopping tomorrow, so hopefully, they won't be too cold shopping by the harbour!

Stay safe everyone! I.am.homesick.

Fortnum & Mason Day 27

I've only pass by Fortnum & Mason, but never have I actually sat in to eat. A little bit like Laduree in Harrods, I never thought they were affordable at one glance when I was back in my Undergraduate days. They look very....posh.
Today though, I agreed to take abang and Kak Long there for tea with Harris, since he was also in London accompanying his sister. Well, Harris suggested it influencing me using nothing but this line:
"Aiman and I always come here. Aiman loves it here"
"HUH?! I never knew Aiman studied here!"
"Lol! Not everyday-always la. When he came to visit London la"
"Geeez....ok, how is that always. Pfft.  Aiman and Alia are quite the opposite Harris, don't you know? I may have studied here for a few years, but where he likes to go, are probably what I've never even heard of"
"Ok, take a picture and tag him"
"What?! -__________-"

Often shortened as "Fortnum's", I learnt that it was initially founded as a grocery store before it began to build its name through its quality food. The store has held a number of Royal Warrants and used to be grocers to His Royal Highness Prince of Wales.
I must say though, my visit to Fortnum's was so worth it! Everything is just so pretty in here!! The place, the environment, the food, they were all excellent! What you've got to try is, their 'Sweet Treats scones'. SUPER YUMS I CAN FAINT EATING THEM! Melts in your mouth kinda yums :)

Ice Cream, Sun and Park Day 26

Of course I did not forget to bring them to Oxford Street to 'cuci mata'
(Un)fortunately, I ended up buying the most!! In my defence, most were essentials. Like slip on shoes and work clothes.
Haha....excuses.....Aiyoyo.
:)
