The Usual Everyday London-Melbourne Call

She is just the sweetest ever :)
You know you're such a dear hun. I thought I wouldn't make it back home in time tonight.... I came home and Melbourne time, Shura was awake and was waiting for meeee!!!! She did say she wanted to talk to me on her Saturday morning before she heads off to the library and so...When I thought that the UKEC meeting was gonna be long tonight and chances are, I was gonna miss Shu...I actually had a best friend in the other part of the world waiting for me to come home!! ...to have our everyday-London - Melbourne call :) Sorrry you cried Shu...Wished I could be in Melbourne :( I misss you just tooo much too...and Don't cry!! Coz I don't think I am that strong...Not strong enough to just see you cry and wishing that I was there with you in Melbourne. I wished you were in London! *sigh*
Good luck with revision and Alia sayang Shura more than Shura sayang Alia, ALWAYS! :D
Words are never enough to describe how much I'm missing my Shu!

So Close

At the moment I feel like there's just too many in my hands. Walking back from the lab at 11 pm last night...I thought to myself, second year is tough. Truly, I feel so :(

Doing work in the lab, and looking out towards Carnary Wharf seeing all those aeroplanes fly by, I wished I was on two ; one back to Malaysia and another to Melbourne. How I wish...

Just before I left for the lab, Pho messaged me, and from then on I knew I wasn't the only one on the boat and trust me, I know deep down she understands my situation though she says she doesn't :) I know you truly do sweetie, and then there was Kres who made me smile. The same ol Kres, my star who can come up with just the right advice and at the same time the silly jokes that makes me laugh. ( and btw, no Kres, I am not going for the next ASEAN student leaders discussion though I know you are organizing it :) Go Indonesia! )

Surrounded by silence in the lab and trying to understand statistics, it gave me time to think about the decision I have made. To take up all these modules I am doing right now. Then walking home when around me was already dark and all I needed was my family or even a best friend's hug.

And just as I was bout to head to bed...Shura nudged me to ask if I was ok! Oh yeah :) Truly, a friend in need is a friend indeed, the best friend seems to know my every moves :D Never ever has she failed to cheer me up when it's the worse day for me, and she comes in at just the right time, ALWAYS. You're truly the best best friend I could ever ask for hun.The one who can come up with just the right words to make me feel better, and at that very moment, how I wished she was here with me. So, an hour passes by, and I was already feeling better and was smiling :) She makes me miss her tooo much everyday. Our everyday London- Melbourne call is the best time of the day!
We managed to get our London-Melbourne-Birmingham conversation for a quick 15 minutes after that, before Shu left for school and I headed to bed whilst Pho went to wash up :)
and then came the message from mum that just made me smileee :) How with just words people close to you can make you smile, though they're far away.
You’re in my arms
And all the world is calm...
...
How could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy end
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close
So close
And still so far
I see Shura everyday, I speak to Mum every other day, Pho is in UK, and Kres is in London....They're so close, but stilll...so far.

A week of school wasn't so bad :D

...apart from the fact that my modules are clashing. Grrr....I was studying my options and corporate finance was the extra one module which I have ageed to live with for this whole sem. Then came the problem of restricted module choices in my third year if I were to take that... HECK! Why is our education planned up till that point? Why can't we do the modules that interests us? That we want to do! and not what we are wanted to do... Tak fair kan? Oh well, that's the way it goes...You can't beat em, join em. So yes, I have settled for Statistical Modelling which was second in my list of favourites. So yeah...Hopefully I've made the right choice, no regrets, InsyaAllah :)

Not much of class have gone by thus far, more like first week is the time to adapt and Alee and Kiran have been studying for their exams, so it's been great that whenever I come home there's them. Taking care of Alee who was sick lately and cooking them meals to eat! Feels good making and seeing them happy! haha...Just till this weekend. *ooopss*. You two no more manja-ing! haha...Unless you get City Uni to organize more examinations! Next week, coursework loads and projects will be coming in! Time to turn back into the HAPPY NERD :)

Stress but still happy is the best way to get through Uni! *smiles*

This whole week has been a happy one!! Went back to Uni and met the friends. It was good! Alee got me a belated christmas present which is just gorgeous! A green-hard-covered album filled with LOADS of pictures printed in them ...Running through it, beautiful memories indeed! :D and then first UKEC meeting, I got more Famous Amos from Ian! Yum Yum! Then there was the hanging on the phone for the longest time with mum :) It's always very therapeutic though most of the time I get picked on coz she finds it therapeutic to annoy me!! The joy a mummy finds in annoying her daughter... weird but simply FUN! and yesterday, the coursemates and I went for Leicester-Square-Bella Italia lunch outing which was splendidly SUPERB! (Alex, you're a wee bit tall, are you not? hehe...)

...and Shura is back in Melbourne!!! :D So yes, been having our everyday Melbourne-London call. Missed her ever soooo much! Why can't the best friend study here in London too...or perhaps me studying in Melbourne? Today, I made her get out of bed! hahaha...Apparently, just as Shu was bout to head to bed, *TING TONG*! haha...My message to her to come online and she got out of bed! Utterly happpy!!!! and you're such a sweetie Shu! :) The big sister who makes me happppy all the time, understands me and know me oh-so-well! We spoke for quite long and it was just...HAPPPPPPY THOUGHTS and I met Iris too! (Zamir's kitty cat) :D Can't wait for summer now till we both head back to Malaysia. So yeah, I'm motivated to get through second year well! Once that task is fulfilled, I can look forward to see Shu. Yay! An incentive to do well in my second year and make it go by quickly with Shura's company. I'd do anything to have spent time with them three (Shura, Shams and Kim) back in Malaysia last winter!

Happy happy Alia is back on track! Second year would be good with the right combination :)

So yeah, A Stress and Always-Happy Alia who gets a doze of her Melbourne-London Call with SHURA Everyday and the company of her Disney factors = Motivated Alia welcoming the second year Happily but Stressfully too! Oh yeah :D

Once the clock strucks 12 tonight, the number in the title indicates the seconds left before I can see Shu back in Malaysia!! and so the countdown begins till summer falls....

My Winter Captured!

two thousand and eight

2007 has gone and 2008 has come :)

A great year has gone and it's been a great one no doubt with it's own share of good and bad, laughter and tears :) Oh well, that's what makes it a great one kan?

School starts back for me tomorrow and how I wished it was back to the first day of my term break when I had to rush and submit my coursework during the day and pack up for a flight to Spain that night itself. It was a SPLENDID and AWESOME winter hols ever for me!

It was a lot of travelling, back to back everyday for a good two weeks which made me so exhausted but the happiest kid at the same time! 8 days in Spain, 2 days in Cambridge, 2 days gap in London for Christmas and boxing day before a 5 days holiday in Ireland.

Spain was just superb!! We even rented cars which made it even more exciting. Driving around beautiful Spain was just breathtaking, and I drove without an international license too! *oh dear me*. Even Daddy got a shock, but just laughed it off in the end.hehe... I miss Spain already and the fun times and the beautiful beaches and everything bout Spain! *sob sob*. We visited many places, be it historical or not and one of em was Gibraltar. The UK soil that is in the heart of Spain. Amazingly, it's uber cool coz once you drive pass security to enter Gibraltar, everything was back to the English lifestyle! * Whoa! A minute ago I was in Spain, and I can actually have one foot on Spain soil and the other on UK soil*

We got back at around 3 in the morning on the 9th day, and at 10 the same morning Zril and I had a bus to catch to Cambridge! Was hoping to see Aisyi before leaving for Cambridge but sadly, she wasn't at home. Figured! I mean, alone at home, that's pretty scary since Faezah left for Malaysia, so Aisyi's all alone ( accompanied by her architecture's work la ). Thankful that we actually managed to get up after just a "long" nap to catch that bus. It was a really foggy day in London you can barely see what's ahead of you! FREAKING COLD i swear I wished I was back in sunny Spain! So yeah, in a day, we were in 4 places! Sevilla, Malaga, London and Cambridge....Funnily, I was still able to walk and play about.

The planned surprise was actually waiting at Cambridge, and guess who was there? Aisyah!!! :D Yipppeee!! Cheeky girl wanted to surprise me in Cambridge rupanye. haha...Cambridge was....Motivating! haha...Weirdly I felt so. haha...So, go figure! It's a really nice place. The old buildings and beautiful backgrounds, for a moment it did look like a Castle in Disney Land. All enchanted and magical. Sue Mae brought us around all the colleges, and OMG, just their MAIN library, it's as big as my Uni's MAIN building! Sadly, it was too foggy for us to go punting, but we had a slumber party instead with loads of snacks and food and we watched Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind. Had to watch it twice to understand the beginning part the second time we watched it :) *understand my sentence? hehe..* That night, Zril and I did not last as long as Sue Mae and Aisyi though! Knackered like crazy, so had an early sleep. Met Yi chung for lunch the next day but James arrived a wee bit late.

Arrived back in London and what a pleasent surprise. I had guests waiting at home :) Mizerque from India and Arina came down from Manchester. We had a splendid time at home! Boxing day shopping was nothing compared to Alee's shopping marathon. haha...I just got a pair of shoes from Zara, and just coz it's really nice, I ignored the fact that it was from the Men's section. *grins* So, total I spent on boxing day = 15 pounds! haha... That night everyone gathered at Mudha's and we played cards and went through Spain pictures and had fun.Blissful!
Obviously with me and Alee acknowledging the fact that we have a bus to catch at 4.45 am to get to Stansted for our flight to Ireland! haha...CRAZINESS!

Got home, Alee and I did a spring packing :) Chucked the few clothes we needed for Ireland, and what comes short, we can always get it in Ireland, kan? hehe... Ireland was the place to end the holiday perfectly! Stayed over at Abang's house and the 5 days there was just excellent. Slept in the cosy-gadgety house, played Wii, PS 3, Apple TV, baking with Alee and Kak Azura, went shopping, getting enough sleep and hanging out with em cousins and nieces :) Baby Reana and Fifi are just adorable! Met Fara on our last night and headed back to London just in time to watch the New Year's firework at London Eye.

New year's eve was well spent with Faezah and Aisyah too! :) Then it was the new year countdown. The wild crowd made it difficult to move around and the tight security everywhere. You'll be lucky to not be seperated from your group of friends there. It's difficult once you get lost in the crowd! Got back home pretty late and all our skating plans for the next day were screwed since everyone was catching up on their sleep. The next day, 15 of us went skating together at somerset house and it was BEST :D and the next, we had a movie night and a sleepover at Faezah's, another skating session the next morning with Shasa teaching us how to adopt the skating skills and the rest of the week was just bout staying home, getting visits from Bang Long and Nico and Mira and hunting for motivation through music and books and the sight of Uni outside the window.

Back to Uni, less time outside the house, same routine, same stress....All out to do my best! :D

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!
